Analyzed the changes in the regulatory legal regulation of the status, role and place of local self-government in the Russian Federation in the context of the Federal Law «On general principles of the organization of local self-government in the unified system of public authority»; examined the process of changing the powers and the relationship of local self-government with state authorities at the federal level and subjects of the Federation, changes in the legal nature of local self-government as a full-fledged element a unified system of public authority. The authors substantiate the institutional aspects of local self-government in the system of public authority, explore an updated approach to constitutional and legal regulation of local self-government, and analyze the legal mechanisms for integrating local self-government into the system of public authority.
