Based on the analysis of legal literature and legislation regarding the seizure of property as a measure of criminal procedural coercion in the Russian Federation, several judgments have been made: one of the conditions for the effectiveness of criminal procedural activities is the possibility of applying procedural coercion to individual participants in criminal proceedings; in the theory of criminal procedure, procedural coercion is represented by several groups: preventive measures, other procedural measures coercion; One of the other measures of procedural coercion is the seizure of property; the seizure of property can be considered as the forerunner of criminal punishment — confiscation of property.
