The essence and mechanism of causing harm to human health through the influence of negative information factors on his psyche are investigated. The research materials were current regulatory legal acts and scientific publications on the research topic. General and special methods of scientific knowledge are used. The nature of the human psyche, the essence and mechanism of causing harm to human health through the influence of negative information factors on his psyche are investigated. Gaps in legal regulation have been identified. In conclusion, it is noted that negative mental effects can cause negative emotional experiences and suffering, but they cannot be considered as harming human health. The mechanism of harm to human health through negative mental effects consists in causing physical harm to a person through the influence of a negative mental factor, which, through the inextricable link between physiology and the human psyche, can find its objective expression in the consequences in the form of a mental disorder and other qualifying signs of harm caused to human health.
