The paper is devoted to the analysis of the current state of institutional cooperation of the CSTO member states in the field of crime prevention. The key trends in the development of this area are determined. The multilevel and hierarchical architecture of the CSTO institutional mechanisms for combating crime is systematized. It has been established that its effectiveness is ensured by the synergy between the strategic (security), operational coordination and tactical levels. In addition, in order to develop the institute of legal assistance in criminal matters in the CSTO region, the creation of an Interstate Bureau of Legal Assistance is justified.
