Considered an urgent problem of modern Russian society — domestic violence. Statistical data reflecting the scale and particular cruelty of this phenomenon are analyzed, with an emphasis on the victimization of minors. The article examines theoretical approaches to countering domestic violence, including the repressive (criminal law) model and restorative justice. The systemic shortcomings of the current legal regulation are revealed, in particular, the lack of a unified conceptual framework and the dominance of punitive measures over preventive ones. Based on the analysis of international experience and existing scientific positions, directions for the formation of a comprehensive prevention system are proposed, combining early detection measures, medical and psychological assistance and socio-legal support for families at risk.
