The scientific and methodological materials of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of the Russian Federation named after Professor A.R. Shlyakhov at the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and some processes and procedures related to their development and maintenance in an updated state are considered. Special attention is paid to forensic methods and the relationship of the type of scientific and methodological materials with the stage of formation of a new kind or type of forensic examination. The form of the register of the specified materials used for their accounting is demonstrated. The importance of systematic auditing is substantiated and the wide potential of a set of updated scientific and methodological materials is noted, which, in conjunction with unified development, validation and implementation processes, contributes to improving the quality and reliability of the results obtained during the production of forensic examinations.
