A criminological analysis of the transformation of the socio-economic profile of the subjects of crimes in the sphere of economic activity in Russia has been carried out. The empirical basis of the study was made up of departmental statistical materials of the GIAC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The analysis of persons without a permanent source of income as a key risk group in the structure of crime in the sphere of economic activity is demonstrated. Based on static data for 2015-2024, a steady upward trend in the proportion of this category has been revealed, reaching 50% among identified criminals. Comparative analysis in comparison with the dynamics of the educational level of criminals demonstrates a significant transformation of the specific characteristics of education. The analysis of statistical data indicates a shift in the educational profile of the subject of the crime according to Chapter 22 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation towards persons with basic secondary and secondary specialized education. The main reason for the high proportion of people with low education and without a permanent source of income among criminals according to chap. 22 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is that many parts of this chapter formalize alternative models of economic behavior that become necessary for socially excluded persons who do not have access to legitimate mechanisms for economic activity or stable employment.
