the article presents the results of an empirical study on the personality structure of dog handlers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. The author substantiates the relevance of studying the personality of dog handlers of the Russian law enforcement agencies in achieving the main goal – reliable protection of the country from internal and external threats. As a result of the empirical study, in which dog handlers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia took part, the structure-forming role of emotionality (structural weight 84) and conscientiousness (structural weight 83) was revealed. Calculation of structural weights, construction of two-axis diagrams with identification of the system core, identification of correlation links made it possible to describe the structure of personal and professional qualities of dog handlers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in a holistic manner.
