The article examines the key psychological aspects of radicalization, as well as the factors and mechanisms contributing to this process. Radicalization is a complex and multifactorial phenomenon that can manifest itself in various forms of extremist activity, including political, religious, and ideological extremism. The paper analyzes the social, cultural and personal factors influencing the process of radicalization. Special attention is paid to the role of group dynamics and social identity, which can both contribute to and hinder radicalization tendencies. The article also examines emotional states such as feelings of helplessness, anger, and fear, which can serve as catalysts for the transition to radical beliefs. An important aspect of the study is the discussion of the mechanisms of individuals' involvement in extremist groups, including the influence of social networks and media. The authors emphasize the need for a comprehensive approach to understanding radicalization and offer recommendations for the development of preventive measures and intervention strategies. In conclusion, it is noted that awareness of the psychological factors of radicalization can contribute to more effective work with vulnerable groups of the population and reduce the risks of extremist behavior. The article is of interest to researchers in the field of psychology, sociology and security, as well as to practitioners working in the field of extremism prevention.
