Examines the author's vision of the phenomenon of leadership in the criminal hierarchy, which is based on the synthesis of the categories «criminal ontogenesis» and «criminal sovereignty». Organized crime is analyzed as a highly adaptive systemic «pathogen» that deeply infiltrates socioeconomic structures. Criticizing the ineffectiveness of exclusively transnational repressive measures, the author substantiates the need for an «infiltration anesthesia» strategy — a targeted impact on critical nodes of the criminal system — and the transition to «global governance» models to achieve sustainable «remission».
