the article examines the problems of patriotic education of students in the context of global challenges and threats to Russian statehood. The necessity of introducing a system of military sports training for educational organizations is substantiated, it is shown that this system allows not only to increase the defense mobilization potential of the state, but also is the most important career guidance block for the admission of young people to service (including educational organizations) in the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation. Presented results of an expert survey on identifying the main personal characteristics of patriotic education. The main vectors of the author's program of patriotic education through military and sports training are briefly described.
