IMPROVING THE CRIMINAL LAW REGULATION OF COUNTERING ILLEGAL MIGRATION BY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

Abstract:
A comprehensive analysis of recent changes in the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of combating illegal migration has been carried out. The key legislative innovations of 2024 are being investigated, including the introduction of confiscation of property for organizing illegal migration (art. 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the addition of a list of aggravating circumstances (paragraph «v.1» of p. 1 of art. 63 of the Criminal Code), tougher sanctions for migration-related crimes and the reform of the migration testing system. Special attention is paid to the legal nature of the extrajudicial procedure for restricting access to illegal content on the Internet.
