The possibilities of using digital image processing methods using the MATLAB application software package and 3D microscopy in determining the sequence of execution of overlapping document details are considered. Based on the conducted experimental studies, it has been established that the use of modern microscopes that allow obtaining a three-dimensional image of the stroke intersection area («Leica DVM6A») is effective only in a situation where one of the intersecting props is made by a writing device having a ballpoint (ballpoint, gel, roller pen) or a fountain pen writing unit (fountain pen) exerting pressure on paper and, as a result, leaving a relief, as well as in relation to printed details applied with toner. With respect to intersecting props made with liquid coloring agents, their possibilities are limited due to the mutual penetration and mixing of its particles. The algorithm of the expert's work in determining the relative prescription of the execution of document details by 3D microscopy is formulated, as well as the procedure for using the MATLAB application software package to solve the problem of establishing the sequence of applying intersecting strokes of document details.
