With the development of technology and technology in the labor market, the issue of providing qualified personnel has arisen, which is still relevant today. In this regard, since the early 2000s, work has begun on the development of a new national qualifications system based on professional standards. The previously existing qualifications system based on unified qualification reference books has become obsolete. Since business has the main interest in qualified personnel, it was employers and their representatives who were entrusted with the formation of a system of professional standards – characteristics of qualifications. The «type of professional activity» was adopted as the basis for the systematization of the updated national qualifications system. The analysis of the allocation of «types of professional activity» as a classifying element of the qualifications system is carried out, as well as the analysis of types of professional activity in the complex of labor actions reflected in qualification reference books. The study was conducted by a team of authors and consists of two parts, the first part is presented by F. G. Myshko. In the first part, the problems are identified and approaches to identifying types of professional activities are analyzed. General scientific research methods, content analysis, and comparative analysis are applied.
