Based on official statistics on the state of crime, more than 165000 crimes against the person are registered annually in the Russian Federation. Taking into account the high degree of latency of this type of criminal offense, the total number of such crimes is significantly higher than this figure. This fact clearly indicates the need for increased efficiency in the organization of crime prevention against the person by criminal investigation units. This is not only about identifying and solving such crimes, but also about conducting preventive activities. The article provides a detailed analysis of the organization of countering violent and aggressive crimes against individuals. Special attention is given to the issues of joint and individual operational and preventive work carried out by criminal investigation officers. The prevention and suppression of crimes, including those committed in the current political climate, must be organized at the highest level. Only in this way can we guarantee the safety of Russian citizens. Based on the analysis conducted the author determines the algorithm for conducting operational and preventive measures; presents the organization of individual preventive activities and significant areas of operational and preventive work within the framework of conducting operational and investigative measures in stages; and also identifies a number of current problems in the organization of preventive work on crimes against the individual and suggests that they be paid attention to.
