CURRENT ISSUES OF COMBATING ILLEGAL MIGRATION: DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN EXPERIENCE

Abstract:
The comprehensive analysis of the institute of counteraction to illegal migration is provided, taking into account modern domestic and foreign experience. The legal mechanisms of regulation of migration processes in the Russian Federation, including the latest changes in legislation in 2023–2025 are studied. The comparative analysis of Russian and international legislation regulating the procedure and features of countering illegal migration is carried out. Special attention is paid to systemic transformations in the field of migration control, including the introduction of biometric technologies, digitalization of migration registration and improvement of interagency cooperation. Based on the analysis of normative legal acts, statistical data and law enforcement practice, trends in the development of migration legislation are identified and directions for its improvement are proposed.
