Analyzes the use of artificial intelligence (AI), which has become widespread in recent years, by law enforcement officers to solve and investigate crimes. An overview of the potential benefits of AI in the legal field, in particular in the legal science of forensics, is presented. Successful examples of AI implementation in various countries, including the United States, China, the Netherlands, and Holland, are highlighted. AI capabilities such as the ability to acquire and work with vast amounts of data and the potential for self-learning are reviewed, and the current limitations of AI and its potential for future development are discussed. AI is a valuable tool for law enforcement and its application in this area is likely to increase in the future.
