The digital transformation of the economy facilitates the emergence of new financial instruments, which have a number of undeniable advantages that can be used in criminal activities. Digital currencies, in particular cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, due to increased anonymity and the possibility of international movement, are actively used for legalization of criminal proceeds. The key aspects of the introduction of the digital ruble into the Russian economy and its prospects in the sphere of combating money laundering are studied using the example of China's experience. The possibilities of using digital yuan and digital ruble in cross-border transactions are analyzed.
