The current topic of elite crime is analyzed. The problematic points that complicate the processes of disclosure and investigation of crimes, which are jointly handled by investigative and operational units, are identified. Thoughtful and proactive cooperation of investigative and operational units is at the forefront, since only such a format of interaction will allow to establish the truth and bring to justice the culprit. Strict observance of the rule of law is also a prerequisite, but it should not be based only on formalism. The author of the study considers it necessary to create specialized regulatory legal acts concerning the disclosure and investigation of elite crimes, as well as to toughen the punishment for committing illegal acts of this category. The result of the systematic research work was the formulation of a specific recommendation addressed to the legislator.
