The socio-political prerequisites of cognition of the criminogenic potential of artificial intelligence technologies have been determined and the problems of their application in crime prevention have been revealed. Theoretical and methodological obstacles arising in the presented area of criminological research are established, including: the lack of interdisciplinary relationships, archaic methodology and techniques, poor concretization and insufficient verifiability of research results. The unified methodological parameters (directions) of criminological cognition of artificial intelligence technologies are formulated and the need to develop a special criminological research methodology is substantiated. The problems of using artificial intelligence technologies in anti-criminal practice are identified and the positive experience of their solution is presented.
