EVALUATION OF THE CONCLUSION OF THE FORENSIC PORTRAIT EXAMINATION IN RELATION TO PERSONS WITH ALTERED APPEARANCE

Abstract:
The article presents problematic issues concerning the assessment of expertise in relation to persons with altered appearance. It is noted that, in addition to formal elements, the investigator, the judge and other participants in the process should assess the reliability and completeness of the expert's conclusion. The possible difficulties that may arise when analyzing the correctness of the application of methods, the choice of specific research methods, the assessment of coincidences and differences identified in the process of expert research are analyzed. The attention is focused on the extreme desirability of attracting a specialist, as well as on the need to present the progress and results of expert research in an accessible and understandable language.
