The positive and negative impact of stress on the performance of professional tasks by employees of security and escort police units is considered. Given a stadial characteristic of stress as a general adaptation syndrome of the body's nonspecific response to exposure to stressogenic factors. Features of stress influence on communicative, cognitive and conative (behavioral) structure of employee's activity are disclosed. The relationship of the negative impact of stress depending on the length of service, professional experience and individual typological characteristics of employees is shown. Preventive measures aimed at increasing social and psychological adaptation and reducing the negative impact of stress on employees of security and escort police units are justified.
