The relevance of the article is caused by the need to clarify the concept and essence of civil and municipal service in the Russian Federation at the current stage of development. The author of the article concludes that the directions of organizing the process of state and municipal administration require the introduction of modern principles for organizing the public service. The successful development of the Russian state is impossible without effective state and municipal administration. Knowledge of the peculiarities and general patterns of the development of the regulatory and legal framework governing the state and municipal service is necessary for the implementation of a successful career of modern managers.
