Achieving a sufficient level of economic security of the real sector of the Russian economy is the most important component of the sustainable growth. The purpose of the study is to assess the state of economic security and current threats to the real sector of the Russian economy. The article uses both general scientific and special scientific methods. The main tasks of the study are: the formation of methodological foundations for managing economic security in the real sector of the economy, the diagnosis of the state of the real sector of the Russian economy in the context of economic security, as well as the identification of current threats. The scope: understanding the importance of managing economic security in the real sector of the Russian economy, assessing the prospects for improving economic security. Conclusions: the current approach to managing economic security in the real sector of the Russian economy ensures only its survival, in order to return to the trajectory of sustainable development on an innovative basis, it is a necessary condition to end the military conflict and partially lift anti-Russian sanctions.
