Modern methods of crime forecasting in the Republic of South Africa Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining are considered. Violent crime in South Africa is characterized by high rates. Law enforcement agencies are forced to store significant amounts of data, which in modern conditions can be used for criminological forecasting. However, accuracy is the main problem in predicting crimes. The value and effectiveness of using data mining and machine learning in crime forecasting is emphasized.
