Abstract:
Described the formation of the St. Petersburg school of studying of operational investigative activities as an open legal science. The role of the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and its head, V. P. Salnikov, in the formation of this science and its further development is shown. The importance of observing the rule of law in carrying out operational investigative activities and using its results in proving criminal proceedings is explained.
