The problem of extremism and terrorism is considered as one of the key threats to national security and public stability of the Russian Federation. The dynamic transformation of the forms and methods of activity of extremist groups, their adaptation to the digital environment and the use of modern technologies require constant analysis and improvement of countermeasures. The current state of the problem of extremism and terrorism in the Russian Federation is analyzed. The effectiveness of existing countermeasures is assessed and trends in the development of threats are identified to formulate recommendations for improving state policy in this area.
