Based on the analysis of the legal literature and legislation on internal affairs bodies in the system of law enforcement agencies in the Russian Federation, several judgments are substantiated in the article: It is unacceptable to identify the organs of internal affairs and the police; the law enforcement agency is exclusively the organs of internal affairs; the police should be considered only as an element of the system of internal affairs bodies.
