The main aspects related to bringing to disciplinary responsibility persons with special ranks of law enforcement officers are highlighted and analyzed. Thus, the dynamism of disciplinary and administrative legislation, expressed in an increase in the number of regulatory legal acts that regulate the disciplinary responsibility of police officers, allows us to conclude that it is characterized by multilevel sectoral regulation, both horizontally and vertically. At the same time, the absence of a single regulatory legal act that would fully cover all aspects of disciplinary proceedings in the Department of Internal Affairs, clearly delineate, including moments of insignificance, the circumstances aggravating and mitigating disciplinary liability, is a legislative flaw, which determines the relevance of the study of problems in this area.
