The problems of ensuring equality of people are being investigated. Special emphasis is made on the inadmissibility of doping by athletes, as it violates the principle of equality and does not ensure fair sports competition. The administrative and criminal legislation of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, which establishes responsibility for violation of anti-doping rules, is analyzed. Proposals on improvement of the mentioned legislation and law enforcement practice were made. Taking into account the intensive development of information technologies the attention is drawn to the necessity to evaluate the possible use of chips and other «smart devices», the conclusion is made that their use in sports competitions to ensure equality of all their participants should be excluded.
