First, the pandemic, and then the extreme escalation of sanctions, complicated the execution of civil contracts, the parties to which began to refer to these circumstances as having force majeure, indicating not that they could neither foresee, nor predict, nor overcome them. The emerging Russian judicial practice is based on not recognizing sanctions as force majeure circumstances, force majeure, classifying them as business risks.
