This study is devoted to the analysis of the provisions of the acts of the Union State, legislation and by-laws of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on the property of the Union State. The purpose of the article is to determine the legal essence of the property of the Union State, to characterize its legal regime, to describe the state of legal regulation in this area and to make recommendations for its improvement. The object of the study is the legal relations of the property of the Union State. The subject of the study is the acts of the Union State, the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on property. The methodological and theoretical basis of the research consists of generally accepted principles of scientific knowledge applicable to the study of property problems, as well as private scientific methods (formal legal, comparative legal, comparative historical, systemic, dialectical). In the course of the study, conclusions were drawn about the need to consolidate the institution of ownership of the Union State (union property) in the civil legislation of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation as state property.
