Crime investigation is the process of gathering and analysing evidence to establish the circumstances of a crime and to identify the perpetrators. This process involves many aspects such as collecting evidence at the crime scene, interviewing witnesses, analysing data, and conducting forensic examinations. During the investigation, the investigating officers use various methods and techniques to solve the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice. The key to success in investigating a crime has been and continues to be an employee’s professional training and high technical involvement. The impetus for re-engineering crime investigation can be provided by electronic information interaction between internal affairs agencies and interested organisations.
