The key features of the Russian model of constitutionalism in the context of its selfsuffiency and identity are analyzed. The author believes that the key basis of Russia’s identity and constitutionalism is the sovereignty of the state, the unity and inseparable interconnection of Russian society and the state. The author emphasises the stability and inviolability of the foundations of the constitutional system of Russia, but notes that they need to be developed in order to preserve, strengthen the original Russian constitutionalism.
