The aspects of a comprehensive study of videophonograms as objects of expertise of video and sound recordings are considered. On the one hand, video phonograms are a source of factual data about events recorded on them in the form of a sequence of their images, on the other hand, a source of information about the audio accompaniment of events in the form of, for example, sounding speech. In addition, video phonograms are carriers of information about the methods of their manufacture, as well as about various types of changes that could be made during the recording of video phonograms and/or after its completion, since each of the methods of manufacturing or modifying digital video phonograms is reflected in the properties of video phonogram files and/or recorded signal. The article highlights the current state of expert practice and the methods used in conducting comprehensive examinations to determine the presence or absence of signs of changes in video recordings.
