The questions related to some problems of systematization of knowledge about modern certification printing plates are considered, in particular, the possibilities of improvement of approaches to the formulation of classification systems are analyzed, as well as the reasons for the necessity of supplementing the modern classification of certification printing plates with new grounds for classification are considered.
