The socio-economic development of the Russian Federation has recently been influenced by external shocks. The search for optimal solutions regarding the formation of Russia's internal financial market and the country's involvement in the process of financial globalization takes place empirically. In the future, this will require the concentration of a significant number of resources. At the same time, there is still no understanding whether the achieved results will be in demand. In this regard, the urgent task is to develop operational solutions that ensure Russia's involvement in the process of financial globalization on an equal basis with developed countries. The paper attempts to identify the essence of the «financial globalization» process, determine the potential of the Russian Federation for the development of the national financial market and financial system, optimize the financial instruments used by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to counter external shocks, and find solutions to involve Russia in cooperation with developed countries during the formation of the financial globalization process. The authors believe that financial globalization for the Russian Federation can become one of the tools for ensuring economic security, as it will allow us to develop an algorithm to overcome threats and expand opportunities for the development of the domestic financial market, which will become a growth driver for the national economic complex of the Russian Federation as a whole.
