Analyzed one of the directions of digital transformation of modern criminal procedure, which consists in expanding the use of remote procedures in the conduct of investigative actions at the stage of the preliminary investigation. Based on the analysis of the provisions of Article 189.1 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation and law enforcement practice, the author comes to the conclusion about the gaps in the legal regulation of the remote procedure for interrogation, confrontation and presentation for identification. Suggesting possible ways to improve the production of investigative actions using video conferencing systems, the author suggests proceeding from the basic provisions of the criminal procedure law, not to reduce the already established level of guarantees of the rights of participants in criminal proceedings during remote procedures, and also to avoid cluttering up criminal procedural norms with prescriptions of an organizational nature.
