Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The article presents the results of a three-year study (2022-2024) on the integration of elements of karate training into the special and combat training program for cadets of the Kikot Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Based on the data of 200 participants, the positive influence of the methodological principles used in the karate training process on coordination abilities, psychological stability and operational readiness for confrontation was proved. Special attention is paid to the adaptation of karate techniques for cadets with experience in other martial arts. Karate, unlike many modern martial arts (MMA), was originally created as a pragmatic and well-structured combat system focused on effective training of students in the skills of confrontation in real conflicts. Its centuries-old evolution (from Okinawan schools to modern styles) has allowed it to form a methodically verified structure. Professional training in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation is aimed at developing skills that ensure the effective performance of operational tasks in conditions of physical resistance [1]. Despite the success of domestic techniques (combat sambo), there is still a need for innovations that increase the accuracy of actions and psychological stability. Karate is considered by the author, initially, as a ready-made discipline with an emphasis on coordination, control of strength and breathing, demonstrates the potential to complement traditional programs. International experience (Japan, USA) confirms its effectiveness in police training.
