The current system of countering extremist activity has a wide range of resources and mechanisms that make it possible to counter real extremist threats not only directly when they are identified and suppressed, but also when organizing measures aimed at monitoring, preventing and predicting these illegal activities. This study is devoted to the theoretical understanding and law enforcement analysis of the current legislation of the Russian Federation regulating the activities of internal affairs bodies and other law enforcement agencies to counter crimes and other offenses of an extremist nature in the activities of religious associations, and also allows us to identify the main trends in improving the system of interdepartmental interaction and information and analytical support for countering religious extremist threats.
