This paper provides a content analysis of the term "education" based on the example of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's autobiographical work "Poetry and Truth". The content of the autobiographical work is considered. The usage of the term in the autobiography is investigated. The concept of individuality of definition in a specific historical case is considered, as well as the semantic transformation of the concept in time.
