The analysis of the current problem of illegal migration in the Russian Federation and measures of criminal law counteraction to it in the light of the latest legislative innovations of 2024 is carried out. The public danger of organizing illegal migration as a form of organized crime is noted and the reasons for the tightening of criminal legislation in this area are analyzed. Key problems in this area have been identified (including the predominance of suspended sentences) and promising ways to improve legislation and its application have been proposed, including strengthening the inevitability of punishment, the use of modern means of identification, and interstate cooperation. The conclusion is made about the need for an integrated approach combining stricter criminal law measures with preventive and organizational measures.
