In this article, emotional stability is considered as a criterion of professional psychological fitness. At the same time, emotional burnout is defined as a reaction to external circumstances reflecting the specifics of professional activity. Taking into account the multidimensional nature of the official activity of a police officer, the personality characteristics of candidates for service are analyzed from the point of view of assessing their professional psychological fitness.
