This scientific article describes the theoretical and practical aspects of studying the readiness of graduates of universities of physical culture to work in various fields of physical culture and sports. The study examined the opinion and assessment of specialists in the field of physical culture and sports on some aspects of vocational education, as well as the readiness of graduates of the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports to work in various positions in their field. According to the results of the study, graduates of universities of physical culture feel the most prepared to work as a sports coach, a physical education teacher at school and a physical education teacher at the university. Based on the data of the conducted research, it can be argued that higher education institutions of physical culture need a greater professionalization of education by improving the cycle of special disciplines that reveal the content of professional activity in the positions of teacher-organizer, instructor-methodologist of industrial physical culture, researcher, organizer, methodologist of therapeutic physical culture
