Abstract:
The current state of the illegal phenomenon of shoplifting is analyzed. Investigated: as a percentage of their total number, the most common categories of goods, the theft of which is attempted by shoplifters; a social portrait of modern shoplifters and some psychological determinants of their illegal activities; methods, tricks and tricks used by shoplifters when committing shoplifting; the most common ways and means of selling stolen goods. It is concluded that it is necessary to introduce a separate register for recording the commission of shoplifting, both in terms of crime statistics and in terms of statistics of administrative offenses. A proposal is also being made to introduce into the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation certain norms providing for criminal and administrative-legal liability for committing shoplifting.
